I have always wondered what way AI could help analyse and predict match events. Has anyone tried this?
It can give you a prediction, but it always leaves out the luck factor, I think the odds of casinos already have the same information and can make better decisions on odds than AI
No, because nobody or no model can predict the future.
What a good AI model does have the potential to do is identify markets where there is value in the odds.
From there it's just a numbers game where you are more than likely to profit over a large number of bets.
AI can help a person who is not familiar with the situation of the clubs. Sometimes I bet on teams I don't know just for the pure fun.
AI can use ton of data to predict match outcomes, but let’s be real, it’s still a guess at the end of the day. AI models can give insights that you might miss, but there’s no guarantee it’ll be right.
@dany That is a good example. AI can only work with the information that it has but this can help gamblers if they need data and statistics on a football team or a horse for example. While it is true that nobody can predict the future accurately, it is something that we try and do all of the time.
The best way to predict future outcomes is to look at trend data and other statistics. This is something that AI can do very quickly. But as I have said before, the information that AI provides is only as good as what is input in the first place. It is the classic "garbage in garbage out" scenario. I suppose it all comes down to how much you trust the AI that is making the predictions.
@graham Well, if you asked AI at halftime of the 2005 CL final in Istanbul what would be the outcome of the game between Liverpool and Milan, I highly doubt that it would've been the right guess, but the Liverpool fans (including myself) knew that we wouldn't lose this game! 😀
I think there is a certain level of confidence in using selected models to predict the future. Obviously its not 100 percent but a 75 percent is better than nothing especially if one is new in the betting field. Some AI bots have very high rating feedback on their accuracy. @dany Ha ha as a Manchester United fan I would not have predicted that outcome nor wanted it! I am not saying AI is always going to be right - far from it.
AI is increasingly being used to predict matches. I haven't used it. Prefer good old fashioned pen and paper
