So I’ve came across this article that features VR (Virtual Reality) being integrated in Casinos. According to this, a 15% increase in interest in creating online casinos was seen by Slotegrator experts, and the growth curve of new virtual reality casinos is beginning to resemble this as well. The VR gaming market is anticipated to develop at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 53.1% between 2020 and 2025, according to Technavio's analysis on VR gambling. Additionally, I also found this article which talks about launching virtual reality casinos this 2024. Many companies have already started investing on this niche type of gambling gimmick and their main goal is to enable players to communicate with the virtual equivalents of classic casino games in a much more immersive and futuristic way.

Do you guys think this will succeed? What do you guys think about the success rate of these projects? Are people willing to explore a new environment when it comes to gambling instead of sticking to traditional/mobile ways? Share your thoughts below!

VR making it into gambling? now this is something I'm surprised to see. I definitely see what these companies are doing because we live in the modern times and they're trying to join the trend of virtual reality. I feel like though this is going to be very very niche to a certain audience because VR has its side effects and cons. I can see though that this may spark a lot of interest with the younger generation up to gen x. I also think that the realism factor can possibly cause more addiction somewhat, because it's like made up reality associated with gambling entertainment.

VR is very hot these days. I see a lot of companies including VR in their stuff especially gaming ones so it's not that surprising that online casinos are going to include it in their games and such. We have to see how it progresses what the big names in the industry do as well

VR in gambling could definitely draw in the younger crowd and tech enthusiasts, but it’s going to be niche. The experience might feel too real, which could intensify addiction risks. It’s a bold move, but not everyone’s ready to trade traditional gambling for a VR headset. Let's see if it catches on.

This is cool.

VR still seems in its infancy and the graphics are often surprisingly poor but if metaverse ever takes off then the casino experience will also go with it.

I am not convinced that VR casino games will be a success. I have played a couple of VR games using different headsets and after about 30 minutes they become very uncomfortable to wear. There has been a lot of talk about VR for some years now but I haven't read anything about it being a major success for gaming or any other niche like gambling.

I am probably the oldest member of this forum and some of you might think that I am dismissing VR because of my age. But that couldn't be further from the truth. I have been associated with technology most of my life and am a big fan of computers, smart devices, the Internet etc. I just found those VR headsets irritating after a while so I can't imagine spending a couple of hours at a VR casino!

VR in casinos sounds like an interesting concept, but I’m curious if people will actually adopt it. It’s definitely cool and immersive, but I wonder if traditional gamblers will want to make the switch or stick with what they know. 😏

I'm always fascinated by how technology is continuously and the idea of VR being integrated in casinos in thrilling. It might seem to be a far fetched idea right now but I bet in the future it will be a thing.

@graham I agree with you. Contrary to what people think, just like you I know a lot of people the same age that also loves playing video games, different gadgets and even consoles. If it wasn't for the upper generation I wouldn't discover the gadgets or technology stuff that peaked during the 90s-2000s. About the VR, I agree as well. It personally makes me dizzy and feel nauseated even after a short time. So if it's combined with gambling, people should probably consider their health or physical state first if they can handle it especially if we're talking about long table game sessions. I feel like also people would be excited at first but drop it immediately afterwards like every other trend just because mobile casinos would be more convenient.

@graham This is actually so sweet. You remind me of my uncle. He was so tech savvy despite his age but he was also the one who taught me most of the internet and technology stuff growing up. I agree with the VR also because it can be too overwhelming and irritating especially doing it for a long time. It can probably strain our eyes and put so much stretch marks to our skin

@ray You are so right my friend. How can you concentrate on casino games if the VR headset is making you sick? Your health always has to come first.

@facebook-samanthadelafuente I am glad that my post was "sweet" for you 🤣 I know some younger people who have had trouble with VR headsets as well so it is not just me being a grandpa! Probably your uncle grew up with technology like I did. My first job was as a telephone engineer and then I migrated to computers and the Internet. I have nothing against PC or console games other than they consume too much of my time!
