When I glanced at the title of the post I thought they had removed the bitcoin tips or something that significant. :'D
I am not currently a regular user of X, but with all the tension in the US political landscape, I would not be surprised if these things happened in a social media and passed unnoticed. Also, as I understand it, Musk has made statements openly supporting Trump, so I highly doubt that the reasons for removing these emojis have a hidden agenda.
And as for bitcoin, it was Elon himself who established tipsjars and encouraged the use of Bitcoin for it. So I also doubt there will be any moves that affect its use in X.
A while back Elon said that X will get rid of all hashtag emojis. However, the removal happened yesterday as the Bitcoin Conference 2024 kicked off in Nashville. It seems antagonizing since Donald Trump will be speaking on July 27 at the conference whose Maga emoji has also been removed. Why now? Just to rile up the crypto boys?
I haven't been on X that much lately as well but I have noticed the changes. I agree with the Abel though. Knowing how Elon Musk openly supports Trump + the stuff going on the US it wouldn't come as that much of a suprise. Although I think there are people who have noticed it as well, they are still trying to keep it on the down low.
