The voluntary ban is where you impose a voluntary ban on yourself in a state. This can be for a year, five years, and even for life. By doing this, any time you step into casinos in a state where you've voluntarily banned yourself you become criminally liable. This ban is existant in the the state of Ohio maximized by individuals who wish to control their gambling habits or cut it off all at once forever. What do you think of this? Would you use it on yourself if you were on the verge of falling into a gambling addiction if it existed in your state/country?ย

You can do this with online casinos as well. If they have this feature, you can ban yourself from using the casino for a specified period of time. I have never banned myself from either land-based or online casinos but I did think about doing it once before with online gambling. Rather than impose the ban I decided to use my will power to not visit the online casino for a while and it worked.

It all comes down to how much self-discipline you have. If this is a weak area for you then imposing a ban could be a good idea. It is better to do this than lose your shirt gambling with money you don't have. I would always recommend developing your self-discipline as this is a skill that you can apply in so many different areas of life.

I would definitely do this. I have tried it with online casinos where a friend holds my login details and only them can log me in when I want to bet

I think this voluntary ban is the most applicable for individuals who struggle to control their addiction and feel they may have no other option but to do this to forcefully control their gambling habits. Nevertheless, I still think it's wise to work on self-control instead and ask for professional if you feel you are struggling with a gambling addiction as a start to slowly find ways to cope.ย ย

I'm not the addicted type, but if I don't feel on top mentally, I would use this method.

I will apply this on me if I know that I am going to be addicted.

Yes I would if it would help me to control my addiction I say why not. Although I dont think I would ban myself forever though; maybe for a couple of years.ย
