In a situation where stakes are high and tensions are too how do you keep your emotions at bay?

I take a deep breath and if possible take a drink. I can also take a break for fresh air before proceeding 

I would try to remind myself that it is important to have self control. It can be easy to be affected by emotions which will only negatively affect your gameplay even more. When playing it is always best to remain objective and to put emotions aside.
