How is the gambling sector impacting the environment, and how are they mitigating effects?
I think one of the major impacts of gambling in our environment are generation of waste and consumption of energy. Traditional casinos produce food waste and other disposable items made out of plastic (cups, utensils, trash bags, etc.) which obviously can lead to pollution. In addition to that, traditional casinos uses large amount of power, I believe some of the major casinos are operating 24/7, so imagine the power they consume on a daily basis.
Never thought about the environmental side of gambling before.. cool to see they're trying to go green! It makes sense that those huge casinos would use a ton of energy. Hopefully these places will keep pushing for sustainable practices.
I think it's what the casino offers that's affecting the environment. Like the food, drinks, accommodations etc. With so many people playing I would imagine the pile up of food waste and trash with so many people playing sometimes nonstop. Wish people were more eco-friendly about their habits on a daily basis
