What's your strategy? Do you keep track of your progress? Practice on free games/casinos? Do you read up on articles or watch youtube videos? Do you listen to podcasts or observe online streamers?
I do all of the things that you have mentioned. How you learn as much as possible about a specific game doesn't really matter. Just make sure that you are willing to learn and to keep learning. I didn't become good at blackjack overnight. It took a lot of research and playing the game a lot to learn the best way to approach it.
Learn from your successes and failures. If you lost a hand that you should have won why was that? Did you act impulsively going for another card when you should have stuck with what you had? I tend to keep away from games of pure chance like slots and roulette because I know that my skill level won't make a lot of difference.
I am always on the lookout for new blackjack strategies. They don't come along very often but when they do I analyze them to see how they work. If I like the strategy then I will use it for real and see what happens. Take advantage of free casino games that are available and practice until you are confident of playing well for real money.
Some sites have a demo site where I train and improve my skills and overall concentration. I also try to keep up with trends to see what I can jump on to
I'am hoping that the best way to hone your skills us to practice yourself by playing with others but at the same time observing famous players as they place. Apart from that maybe take the time to read a bit online on the specific game you are trying to learn. That way you are giving yourself every available avenue to learn.
Practice makes perfect. So, play, play, and play some more. That's how you get to hone your skills

For me what i do is watch more experienced players play, research different strategies about the game in particular and then play and practice a lot with players with more experience than myself, note my failures and how to improve on em.

Lot's of research. One of the most effective ways i think.
I would watch videos on youtube or read online. I also play the games myself since I know that experience is the best teacher. I think honing your skills involves many things that you need to work on over time.

I try to listen to podcasts that are available that talk about the games. I also try to look for videos online. This way I can hear and learn about it so I can apply it when I have the chance to play the game.
