I just know about one. A lottery winner insured his winnings wisely.

REAL LIFE STORY
Yea, friend of mine went on a seasonal job and he was splashing everything he was earning. The last day before he was about to leave he decided to go and hit the roulette.... he won more money than he earned for the whole 3 months and went back home. 😀ย

Yea. Especially in sports betting. A neighbour bagged a winning worth $2 million some years back. From interviews he seems to have used the winnings wiselyย

@tituskrit It is important that someone treat the money they win well. Unfortunately, there are some who have it out of hand.

@amyxx most people who win never expected it. So restraint is almost zero

My cousin has won a lot of money gambling (he was the one that got me interested in it when we were teenagers). He has won big on horse racing and in poker tournaments. Surprisingly, he is pretty good with managing money and has kept most of his winnings. He is partial to big bets on horse racing and football though and I know he has had some big losses too.

@tituskrit That is true and also it depends on the personality type as well. Do you think you could handle the situation well?

@graham Unfortunately, sometimes you cannot avoid losses too. But good news that he can manage money well. Also, it must have been inspiring to see his successes as a teenager.

@dany I think I know this friend from the USA work and travel program. Pretty lucky if you asked me. ๐Ÿ™‚ I got another story from a J1 student. Back in Wisconsin Dells, a friend of mine was about to get evicted from his hotel room as he couldn't pay. He took an early paycheck from his job as a hotel receptionist. Then, he bought a bottle of Jack Daniels, got drunk and went to the casino. Going in with $100 and in a few hours going out with $3,000. 😵 😵 😵

@amyxx Yea, exactly. People who are impulsive tend to blow the winnings fast and go back to try their luck again and again

Don't have a personal story of my own but reading up on the comments particularly Graham and Yordan's comments that's so cool to hear. I'm pretty sure there are gambling success stories out there that are popular so I'll trying reading up on some during my down time.ย
