@facebook-bawootaigho I found this transcript ย that supposes that Sumerians as well as later Mesopotamians elites passed time playing the Game of Twenty Squares that was only played as a ritual practice of making contact with the world of spirit. So, it seems that albeit played leisurely, it was some form of gambling although they never placed bets on the outcomes. But in other civilizations like ancient Egypt, gambling was popular and games like Hounds, Jackals, and Senets were played,

@adtya we have come a long long way! Its fascinating how fast we have accelerated from our cave days. What changed though? We've gained so much knowledge from using bone dice to using AI to predict outcomes. That's an insane trajectory.

@arniebaes We have progressed so fast. Not just modern casinos but also the use of AI to predict outcomes. That's an impressive track record.

@khalidbedouin agreed 100%. Necessity is the mother of invention. I also don't think that the mind can handle boredom. It has to continuously find was to entertain itself be it externally or internally.

@facebook-alicemawia That's what happens to me also, I guess the field of history is so vast that one can't ever get enough of it. It always feels that there's still a plethora of facts to explore.

I find it very interesting that France and Italy is usually the ones where casino games or casinos originate in general. Now I know why it's such a big thing in those countries and it's crazy it dates back way way older than we thought.
