Especially in the Eastern countries, there has been lots of rules and regulations regarding online betting. Is it much needed or just a violation of rights?
The regulations are necessary as many countries consider gambling a social vice. The regulations also try to curb money laundering and gambling addiction
@facebook-awsaw Good points and don't forget underage gambling which is a big problem in many countries as well
I think modern betting sites should set up some rules during the sign up stages. For me I would like them to implement two rules:
- Before completely setting up a user account, users must submit a valid ID to verify that they are not underage.
- If the users can't provide an ID in a span of 2 weeks, they must disable the account and only reactivate it once the user submits and ID.ย
I believe these two will prevent underage people from gambling.
@evcj_ I agree to this. Underage gambling is so rampant these days and teens like showing off that they are gamblers
There should definitely be regulations on betting sites. No underage gambling, trying to stop addicts. It has become a huge problem so appropriate steps need to be taken
@facebook-awsaw I am sorry to hear that. I am in favor of any initiative that prevents underage gambling as it is so important to protect our children and teenagers from this.
Itโs definitely important to have some regulations in place for online betting, especially in eastern countries where things can get tricky, but I get why some people might see it as overreach.
Regulations are a must, along with a secure and transparent environment.ย
Without regulation, you risk unscrupulous operators stealing your money and turning a blind eye to addiction and underage gambling.
That's the problem with these global crypto casinos - no ombudsman or regulator to fall back on should something go wrong.

Regulations are good for gambling so as to ensure safe gambling and protection for the rights of all the parties involved.
Regulations for modern betting sites are essential. In Eastern countries, the cultural attitudes towards gambling are disparate from those of the West. For example in China, gambling is illegal and has been so since the Communist Party took power in 1949. All forms of gambling:online gambling, gambling overseas, and opening casinos overseas to attract Chinese citizens as primary customers are illegal.
In practice though, there are state-run lotteries which Chinese people can take part in. Chinese folks can travel to special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau where gambling is lawful. Such regulations bring into question the principles of personal freedom. Are cultural and social values superior to individual rights? In Eastern countries, yes.
@evcj_ those are some sound propositions. The ID thing especially is crucial. I think underage gambling should be highly restricted because it has only downsides when you really think about.
