@ishtar Yeah hard drive failures are a real pain. I only installed the SSD that failed just over a year ago (conveniently it is out of warranty now :() Sorry I got that wrong - I thought you were talking about VAR. On the Rooney / Ronaldo thing there is no doubt that Ronaldo had the biggest impact in the shortest time but Rooney was a faithful servant for many years so it is hard to say which signing was bigger or more important.
If you look at it in financial terms then Ronaldo is the clear winner. I can't remember how much the club signed him for but I think it was around £12 million. He then moves to Rael Madrid for around £90 million. This is one of the few times that United did good business in the market. Usually, they pay too much for players and then sell them at a loss!
